"Project of the Month".
Persian leopard conservation project selected as March 2008 “Project of the Month”
in Cat specialist group website. The field surveys focused on camera-trapping for
leopard population census till now and next phase will be started from spring 2008.
This project was initiated in June 2007 with logistical support of Fars province
Department of the Environment and donors like Mr. Navid Shahrouzi in Bamu National
Park and has reached tremendous preliminary results so far. Recently this project
was presented in IUCN/SSC Cat Specialist group website as the first Iranian Cat
conservation project.
