Plan for the Land Society retook the goldfishes in order not to release them in the lake, raised awareness about the situation of mountain salamander of Lorestan and provided information on the red-eared turtles, with the cooperation of Pars Herpetology Community and with the support of Municipal District 22 of Tehran on April 2, 2014.

Visitors of Shohaday-e Khalij-e Fars Lake and residents of District 22 of Tehran, while being introduced to the endemic and endangered species of mountain salamanders of Lorestan and also threads and conflicts of releasing goldfishes and red-eared turtles in nature (ponds, lakes and rivers), delivered their goldfishes of Haft Sin (tradition of Nowruz Holiday) to the experts of the Community on April 2, coinciding the Nature’s Day.

The program was held proposed by the Municipal District 22 of Tehran and following the environmental communities and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) activities on raising awareness about the conservation of mountain salamanders of Lorestan and conflicts of releasing red-eared turtles and goldfishes in nature.

In this program, a total of 15 environmental experts and educators in order of sensitization of citizens, provided practical solutions to stop releasing goldfishes in natural environments (ponds, lakes and rivers), introduced types of the turtles and their transferable diseases, provided environmental information to the citizens about mountain salamanders of Lorestan being endangered and distributed cotton bags and educational posters as a gift and thanked the citizens who had delivered goldfishes, from 6:30 am to 6 pm.
