Third and fourth grades primary school kids of Tehran, Karaj, Bushehr and Borazjan got familiar with optimized power management through interactive and engaging workshops coinciding with 24 of October, the world day of combat climate change.
This program was held from 24 of October till 31 of December aiming promoting the concept of “sustainability of environmental resources” in the form of 45-minute workshops for third and fourth grades of elementary school kids in more than 27 cities Tehran, Karaj, Boshehr and Borazjan
Understanding the definition of the environment, resources and contribution practices to optimal use of resources (water, air, energy, waste, etc.) was training part of this workshop which was conducted with the use of animation and group activities (painting and entertainment) for kids. In this workshop, the kids were given materials and paintings to take home and share with their parents and friends.
Plan for the Land Society has organized this workshop in partnership with Henkel Company in order to teach children and believe in having more influence in primary level due to its social responsibility toward conservation of environment.
Children at this age can be considered as a model among their family and friends in order to protect resources and this created synergistic effect cause the benefit of the whole community.
After training, children were presented environmental conservation champion certificate at the end of workshop.
This program which has been started in all over the world, environmental educators attend schools as resource sustainability ambassadors and they want to note ways of saving energy, water and reduction and waste separation in daily life(home, school) by working with children.
